An IFP 1000 demolishes a pipeline

The MIC (Montaggi Impianti e Costruzioni) company from Cerreto Sannita near the Southern Italian city of Benevento, a specialist firm in the excavations, demolitions and construction fields, was contracted by the national electricity company Enel, to demolish a hydroelectric pipeline at the Colli al Volturno jobsite near Isernia.

The pipeline was 850 metres in length, with an internal diameter of 2.6 m and an external one of 3.2 m. The reinforced concrete walls were 30 cm thick. Demolishing 430 metres of pipeline took an Indeco IFP 1000 six weeks in 12-hour shifts. The IFP 1000 is mounted on a Fiat Hitachi 200, used by operators with over 20 years’ excavation experience.
