Indeco’s demolition equipment at work in the Carnival City
In Putignano, a town in the province of Bari, famous for its historic Carnival (Carnevale), known nationwide for its parades of allegorical floats, a significant urban redevelopment project is under way which will change the face of the central Piazza Aldo Moro. The project involves demolishing the former covered market, which hasn’t been used for years, and enlarging the Villa Comunale. The goal is to create a renovated public space which is more accessible to people. This is a strategic project designed to enhance the heart of the city, making it more modern and welcoming.
The contract was awarded to Fusillo SRL, based in Noci, a company with huge experience in the construction sector. For the demolition phase, Fusillo SRL chose to engage the Putignano company, Fratelli Pugliese Srl, which executed the work with notable professionalism and skill. The demolition, which took about a month, required the use of various pieces of Indeco equipment, a brand leader in the production of attachments for construction machinery.
Specifically, two powerful hydraulic hammers were used, an HP 3000 and an HP 3500, together with two pulverizers, one IRP 850 and an IRP 23 X and one versatile IMP 15 multiprocessor.
The equipment was mounted on Hitachi ZX 240 and ZX 300 excavators, as well as two Komatsu excavators, a 210 and a 340.
“We faced a considerable challenge”, explained Francesco Pugliese, the owner of Fratelli Pugliese Srl. “The former market was built using two types of concrete: one part featured normal density concrete (RCK 300) but the other, particularly challenging, featured a much higher density concrete (RCK 600), originally used for the old conference hall. The Indeco equipment proved to be up to the challenge, offering great agility, speed and reliability during the demolition of both types of material”.
Francesco Pugliese also wanted to highlight the long collaboration with Indeco, which has lasted for more than 30 years: “We are fully aware of the quality of Indeco’s products which, for us, represent a guarantee of efficiency. In addition, we can always count on an outstanding support service, both from dealers and resellers as well as from the parent company’s technical department. When we need support or technical advice, they are always ready to intervene with the greatest response times, offering us the best service possible at any time”.
The work in Putignano represents an important step in the city’s redevelopment, confirming the crucial role that high quality equipment and specialist companies, such as Indeco and Fratelli Pugliese, play in executing works that have a huge impact on the region.
