In Taranto, two Indeco shears cut rail tracks and scrap for recycling in the foundry
TMF, founded in 1978 and based in Taranto, is a solid company in the industrial plant demolition sector, in reclaiming the related sites and, especially, in processing ferrous and non-ferrous waste and materials, guaranteeing its customers an efficient scrap recovery and marketing service. A historic supplier to the biggest steel works in the region, the company handles the initial treatment of scrap in order to re-introduce it into the production cycle. The scrap is first cut into transportable sizes so that it can be transferred to the company’s facility. Once there, it is broken down again into a “furnace ready” size and then sent, depending on its nature, for recycling at a foundry or to landfills for disposal.
The Indeco equipment used by TMF is designed precisely for this work: an IRC 30 Rail Cutter and two Shears, an ISS 10/20 and an ISS 25/40. Mounted on tracked excavators of various sizes, the Indeco shears work from 6 to 8 hours a day, making about 100 tonnes of material, such as rail tracks and other ferrous scrap, transportable.
“We have been using Indeco equipment for over 10 years”, explains Cosimo D’ippolito, the company’s director. “Our initial choice was driven, mainly, by the proximity of the production site, which guaranteed us the greatest speed in terms of technical assistance and the supply of spare parts. Today, we know that the Indeco brand means so much more, including in terms of the efficiency and productivity of the equipment they provide. I truly believe in the growth of the company and in the further developments in its products in the near future.”
