The HP 7000 successfully tackles a tough quarry challenge in Salento

9 October 2025

Since 1974, Donato Coricciati Srl based in Martano (LE) has been continuously applying its expertise in the quarrying industry. The company, a customer of Indeco since the early 1980s, has now chosen an HP 7000 hydraulic hammer to tackle the challenges posed when working with Dolomitic limestone, one of the hardest and most abrasive types of rock.

The daily operating cycle involves a Volvo 480 excavator equipped with an Indeco HP 7000 hammer, working in conjunction with a Volvo wheel loader and an Astra dumper. Over an eight-hour, five-day working week, average production reaches 700-800 m³ of aggregates, used for concrete, bituminous conglomerates, railway ballast and most construction work. All the materials are CE certified and classified according to current standards.

In this demanding environment, where machinery faces heavy wear and requires daily maintenance, the HP 7000 stands out as the optimal choice, boosting productivity, cutting fuel consumption, and ensuring uninterrupted material extraction.

The partnership with Indeco, initiated in the 1980s by founder, Salvatore Coricciati, played a key role in testing the first hydraulic hammer models, including the iconic HB 27, and has strengthened over the years through continuous innovation, with the company progressively adopting new generations of Indeco hammers, from the 1500 to the 4000 and 5000, up to the current HP 7000.

After evaluating several alternatives, Donato Coricciati Srl reaffirmed its preference for the Indeco brand, valuing not only the quality of its products, but also the reliability and customer focus of its prompt, professional support service.
